I have mine done gina, got it done wen i was 17, didnt intend to keep it in this long but i just feel so bare without it infact i think ive developed a lisp with it out now!!
If u really want it done u hav to be prepared for a bit (quite a lot) of pain. I dunno how they do it at this present time but when i got mine done all they did was make me swirl listerine around my mouth for 2 minutes (at which point he asked me if i spit or swallow
) then got a clamp clamped the end of my tongue and stuck the needle thru the middle, took it out then put the bar thru.....
at first they have to put a larger bar thru to compensate for the swelling of your tongue within the first couple of days but u hav to go back a week later to get a smaller one put in by him once the swelling has reduced. There was also quite a lot of blood wen it was first peirced and make sure u dont hav to talk too much at work etc coz i cud hardly talk without sounding like i had some kind of speech disorder for the first week plus u can only really eat soup coz if u try to eat anything solid it hurts/is really hard to chew with ur tongue being so fat.
