Hi, I need to have my Throttle body cleaned on the Golf, is these a simple job or should it be left to someone that knows what they are doing. Thanks

When I cleaned my VR6 TB, just disconnected it and unscrewed the 4 bolts, and cleaned with Carb Cleaner.

What is it exactly thats dirty?? the butterfly and the inside??

Ive always cleaned mine myself. WD40 and a rag always works well for me.
just remove any sensors that could be damaged.

That's it, should be no fuel going near it. Just be careful not to damage pipes.

turn the key, ignition lights come on, fuel pump comes on and the engine is just dead.

I took the air tube off the throttle body (as it says on the can) started the engine (as it says on the can) and the engine died in seconds before i even got a chance to spray the throttle body (as it says on the can) ... and in the user manual.

I tried to restart the engine but it was dead and i cold smell burning .
