VW Corrado

Ok, so I’m putting this out there to see if there is any interest...

I have a ’95 VW Corrado VR6, sitting (and I mean sitting) in a garage, that I am considering selling.

The Car: ’95 Corrado 2.9 VR6, 2dr Coupe (obviously), Manual, Blackberry metallic, K&N induction kit, Magnex S/S exhaust, RH Alurad wheels w/Proxies – original 5 spokes available, Goodridge hoses. Full Black Leather interior, Steering wheel (Momo?) – original available, Sony head unit, 6 disc changer and speakers – original parcel shelf available. Traffic triangle and first aid kit – present and correct. Mileage circa 80k (I think). Full VWSH and copious receipts and history.

The Bad & Ugly: The car has been sat since February 2009. It hasn’t been run, the battery is no doubt juiced and the tyres are flat. All round, a sorry state of affairs. It got this way because I’m a stupid, stupid man. That February the car was running a little rough, with what I expected was a spent idle stabiliser. So off it went to Raymotors for a look, after a full service at a cost of £313.82, they indeed confirmed it needed a new idle stabiliser, but they would have to book it back in. However, whatever fettling they had done at the garage, meant that when I parked it on the driveway when I got it home, was the last time it moved. Instead of getting Raymotors out to sort it, I parked it in the garage to sort at my leisure, and jollied off and bought an E46 M3. Dope. (M3 also for sale if anyone interested...)

The Regrets: All of them...

So there it is. It’s a great car that I love, but don’t have the time or inclination to resurrect. It would need towing and some TLC, but I there is a gem there to be had.

Thoughts?

Please don’t ridicule too hard.

Welcome to the forum!

A story not unlike one of my own.

Any idea what price you would have in mind? I have one but I'm interested what you think.

Yep, you're not alone to have let a car slip...

Or to have been a big VR6 fan.

Lets have some pics, any rot?

And what about this M3??

The car is pretty straight. I think there is a small bubble on the passenger door, but nothing major.

Some before and an after shot of the Corrado on the below link.

The M3, is an E46 SMG. Black with Black leather interior, 19in alloys and Sat Nav. It is a 2002, and cost someone £46k back then.

To be honest, if somebody took the BMW I would probably use the proceeds to sort the VR6 for myself. But one can dream...

I still miss my E46 M3, probably the most complete and best built car I've ever owned.

£8,000 is a bargain. Best of luck with the sale.
