Again, as Lyndo is having another baby later on in the year I must also sell my 1988 Honda CRX.

I've owned it for the last 2 and a half years and it really has been nigh on faultless. I've had the following replaced:

New Brake discs and pads

Suspension brushes

Brake flexi hoses

The engine has only just turned 60,000 miles and is very healthy. The car feels quick even after driving the Focus RS. I have no doubt that all 130BHP is still there......and it weighs next to nothing. The gearchange is very sweet too. Typical Honda!

The car is alot of fun to drive, next year tax will only be £10, insurance is very low considering the performance.......and I often average over 40MPG!

I haven't seen any others on the road for well over a year. It may well be the last one locally, another appreciating asset!

As with the XR2, I'll add photos taken today to Manxads in due course.

Didn't they stop the rolling year for when your car becomes classed as a classic?

No this one isn't Vtec. I've owned three CRXs of this generation and covered over 60,000 miles in them. One was a Vtec, but the non Vtec CRXs are for me a better drive. They are lighter (the Vtecs are 100 or so Kgs heavier and for only 20BHP extra its barely noticeable), they respond better to the throttle, have more poke earlier in the rev range, they seem to have a more nimble front end too.......and dare I say it I think this particular example is actually livelier than the Vtec.

Yeah I think the tax year is now fixed so effectively if a car isn't getting the classic tax rate now, it never will. Not unless the policy changes anyway.
