Doesn't the engine management light coming on mean there is something wrong with the engine somewhere, or am i the only fool that thinks a light coming on that isn't usually on is a bad thing? :? do you not think it'd be best to get it checked out rather than jus leave it an hope it'll go away?

Emz: A sure fire way to see what the problem is is to put it on diagnostics.... you could try disconecting the battery for 30mins (thus clearing the fault codes) and see if it comes back on. Its unlikley it has anything to do witht the exhaust.

Have you tried replacing the sensor, is the light always on, even when you have only just started the engine?

isnt the light annoying thou? and what if something happens and it over heats and ur battering down somewhere pretty rapidly and dont smell anything until its too late? at a cost of a couple quid to fix a tiny problem it could save you many hundreds later on!?!?!? just a thought
