As my VTR is f*cked basically, a few people have hinted that it may be the ECU and have been told to look on ebay an breakers yards for one (in case thats what it is an needs replacing) but there's only one on Ebay an is £500, so does anyone know any sites for breakers yards etc that may be able to help me?
I don't have a clue where to look lol

£500 for an ECU Get a VTS engine for not much more.
There are a few crap yards over here, have a look in the phone book. Shouldnt be too hard to find a crashed Saxo

Well it wasn't just the ECU, it was a whole new engine, there wasn't just an ECU on there
But I got a quote from Eurocars - £601 + VAT (which includes fitting too) hence why i'm looking for a breakers yard
Also are they hard to fit? can it be done by an amateur or will it need to go to a garage to be fitted? ain't got a damn clue about these things lol

Try Brian Cartmell's place down hillberry he'll probably have something down there.
Best to get a professional fit the ECU.

Yeah i've had it pugged into the diagnostics machine an nothing is showing up, it all started months an months ago the revs started dropping an then sometimes they'd drop so much it'd cut out an other times it wouldnt start unless my foot was on the accelerator so i took it to eurocars an they looked at it an put it on the doagnostics an took it for a drive an said 'nope, nothing wrong with it' an charged me £96 but it still carried on but was bearable, but recently its gotten worse an about 4 weeks ago it cut out coming down towards the Creg an refused to go an basically the rest of the story is on here...

Sounds like the air/fuel mix, Lambda sensor? Map Sensor?
The S2000 has had this problem recently, seems to be in relation to the warmer weather, sometimes it won't tick over properly other times it won't accelerate properly until it hits vtec, in this case it is the MAP sensor.

the only time the diagnostic plug wouldnt work on my car is when i have the wrong engine wiring loom and there was no power going to it, have they checked the wiring, might be a dodgy connection or an earth or summit.
The VTEC engine, All that lag and no turbo..... its like waiting for bad sex.
