Does anyone know where i can buy a jump starter battery pack on the island? I've just bought a 2nd hand golf and the battery is dead, so I need to jump start it to get it home from Douglas at some point. Had it started today to test drive, but battery is dead after leaving it switched off for an hour.

Also, any recommendations for places to buy a battery over here?

    Thanks

    Martin

Raymotors definitely do both, infact I would have thought the like of DMS, MotoWorld etc all do them.

Saw one the other day in Ken Quinnes in Port Erin, think it was ÂŁ35 or thereabouts, before buying another battery have you tried a charger, i've revived many a dead battery with a bit of distilled water, a slow charge, switch to fast charge, then back to slow charge for last hour or two. Oldest battery was 8 years old, lasted fine so long as the car was used every 3 days or so.

I haven't tried a battery charger yet, need to get the car home from Douglas first. I'm asking around to see if anyone I know has one to borrow as hopefully I'll only need it once, but will check out Ken Quinnes as that's almost on the way home.

Not on a hill unfortunately and the battery is completely dead so not sure it'll bump. Doors won't even open with the key... lucklily I left the bonnet slight open when it was running so I can at least jump start it.

Seem to remember seeing a spare car battery round my parents house, so will see if that's still there and if it will just go in place of the current knackered one.

Picked a jump starter pack up from Ken Quinnes, thanks for the heads up.

Hopefully I'll get the golf to spring to life tomorrow and get it back down south.

If you are after a cheap battery, I normally use either Rambo or Brian Cartmill. They will also buy your old battery.
