A bit off topic I appreciate....

I bought a 90's Kyosho Nitro RC Car last year after having loads of Tamiya/Kyosho electric stuff in the past.

I have a starting kit but haven't had any joy setting it up and getting it running - allegedly it wasn't originally set up for the fuel that is available these days?

    Suggestions or Can anyone help?

    Cheers

Which engine?, should be stamped on the side of the block, hope its not a gx10.....

Has it got compression?, should be able to feel/hear it pop, Also block the exhaust exit with your finger (or thumb if easier) and pull the pull cord a few times to get the fuel through, check the carb?

OS Max 10 whilst old is normally always a good reliable engine.

Take out the glow plug (should have a spanner with your starter set), plug your glow starter onto it, see if it glows bright orange/red, right to the tip, only do this for a second or so as they get stupidly hot and you can burn them out quickly!

If it glows ok then check the carb, trying putting a few drops of fuel through the carb, the mixture needle will probably need adjusting but its easier to do that whilst its running or nearly starting!
