just spoke to my step dad and he was sitting NEXT to the guy that got killed!
the guy stood up to get a better view... a few moments later my dad feels something on his head, reaches up an touches his head, looks at his hand and there's blood on it...
shortly after, very shortly after the man collapses. apparently he was hit in the heart by a piece of debris. dead before he hit the floor by all accounts... took them quite a while to get the ambulance staff to leave their posts to help as well, apparently they weren't willing to help cos they were supposed to be there for the racers...
anyway, pretty F**K up, he said it's pretty freaking weird being that close to someone killed stone dead, his mate, who was also there, never drinks but was drinking quite heavily in the pub that night!
