As far as I am aware Bus drivers have no special rights when pulling out and have the same "duty of care " responsibilities towards other road users as any other person . The Highway Code says "223 Buses, coaches and trams. Give priority to these vehicles when you can do so safely, especially when they signal to pull away from stops. Look out for people getting off a bus or tram and crossing the road."
As a professional drivers most that I have met act in a professional way , but I have come across some real "bully boys " who use their size and aggressiveness to intimidate others . They have a difficult job often keeping to timetables etc but i believe the Bus drivers on the Island to be some of the Highest paid in Europe and so one would expect a high standard.

Is that sarcastic? Don't bus drivers earn 35-40k?

Their base sallary is not too high, but they do have the opportunity to make it high with overtime, working lunches, shift allownace etc...
I reject your reality & substitute my own..

I didn't intend sarcasm, I made the comment in relation to Emesde's statement that our bus drivers were reasonably well paid and that that, suggested they they should therefore, seemingly, be of a higher standard. What I meant was that sometimes you don't get what you pay for.
