What's the best way to report people these days? I used to find Derek very helpful on the forum, but now is it best to phone them, pop into douglas station, grab your local bobby? Is there actually a proper procedure to report these instances?

    Good question dude.

I've had to go through ages of trying to get it across that I don't want to go to court before, just that you'd like a copper to have a word with someone if possible.
Be nice if there's a number that's particularly for those 'have a word' moments.
If you don't like my comments, don't cause me to write them. How simple is that! :)

Exactly, I'd rather inform someone that there driving is getting a bit sloppy, before it gets too late. At least makes the person think without going to court and possibly making a mess of their life! Gives them the chance to do something about it first!

I have just been speaking to someone from the RPU and I can see the problems from their point of view. If you report someone for a minor offence then its the other guys word against yours sometimes and without full statements its difficult to often deal with these situations.
It seems the RPU also deal with the worst offenders "who probably should be off the road" anyway, so statements would be needed .
What they are saying is in "minor cases " phone the main swtchboard on 631212 when it will be dealt with by the local officer.
In really dangerous cases you can phone the RPU on 631444.
