Hi all,

I am wondering how expensive it would be to convert my Mk5 ZS to throttle bodies?

Any advice?

Depends how you want to do it really, buting a bolt on kit will be easy but expensive, using a diy solution like bike itb's or m3/m5 itbs will be more complex, you also need to factor in what you want to do with the velocity stacks and air supply.

Is the engine MAP or MAF/MAS?

How much else has been done to it? Surely (independent?) throttle bodies is one of the very last things on the list of things to do.

if you are just looking to go faster the usual suspects like a good set of cams, exhaust, intake and a map to suit would be the best route, though you can argue that if your going to run really lumpy cams the itb's would really come into their own.

ITB's are not generally a starting point, though to be fair they won't do you any harm.

ITBs are really one of the last few things to be done to the engine. What steeldonkey said (cams, exhaust, intake and a map to suit) would be the best starting point :)

circa 1500- 2k i think for management system and bodies etc... then you would need it all installed mapped etc....

Sounds like it would be cheaper to go with a puma conversion.

can you not just stick a 2ltr Ztec in?

Years ago a good friend of mine built one upto 400 hp in a mk4? fiesta si body. It was horrible to drive to be honest, but hugely fast.
