    Hi guys

Has anybody got any advice with regards to the above on a Subaru WRX?

Are there any adverse effects? Does the engine require a re-map if a damp valve is added?

    Thank you very much
    If you fancy it

a re-map isnt required but im not a fan of VTA dump valves. (one staht make tssssh noise) recirc dump valves are better IMO. Air that has been registered by the MAF is being vented to atmosphere with a VTA dump valve. a recirc will reintroduce the vented air back into the intake system.

Some people report erratic idles and running issues after having fitted soem dump valves, others have had no issues what so ever.

Certainly for Evos the stock turbo much prefers a recirc. VTAs cause you to run rich just after you let off gas, and lower performance slightly. I wouldn't imagine it's much different for Scoobies.

EDIT TO ADD: You could run a hybrid 50/50 bov if you absolutely must have the sound. Turbosmart do a pretty decent one.

Just run no bov at all saves you ÂŁ150+ on a hks, blitz etc and is exactly the same. It's what Unders did to my Nissan and how I've left it. Really nice noise when you let off on full boost and coo's like a pigeon at lower boost. Quite funny really :)

Pretty sure that puts you at risk of compressor surge...

It does cause compressor surge. every turbo responds differently and some have lasted years doing this... for higher than stock boost applications I wouldnt reccomend it myself... Never really looked into it though...
