42*, a large-ish number, postulated by Douglas Adams as the answer to the meaning of life.

However in this case it is the number of new road signs that have appeared over the mountain section of the T course, excluding of course the traditional TT signs with the names of the variuos course sections on, and the other new signs giving you a 3,2,1 in case you forget about windy corner, creg-na-baa, and the one at the bottom of the straight from the creg.

These signs are set back all of 6 to 8 inches from the road in some cases, surely more of a hindrance than a help? Do we really need them? They are mostly covered up so I am going to assume they are to do with the one way system...... which presumably no-one knows anything about......

*this may not be an accurate count!

Yep, they're for the one-way system. They we're there last year too and were taken down once the road went back to normal two-way traffic.

Seems like a waste of money to me, excluding any safety issues from having more objects for bike to hit.

Any idea how many people try to go the wrong way over the mountain in TT week?

No idea on that, but I do recall the police looking for a rider of a red 'Harley' type bike that went the wrong way, so it certainly has happened in the past. Google brings this up: MCN Clicky.

Personally I think it's a good idea, it's not pretty though.....

Ffs. Even before the one way system was introduced I would never have used the mountain during the tt period. Way too many suicidal power rangers thinking they were king of the mountain for my liking!!!
Don't get me wrong I love the tt and all it does for the island, but far too many idiots go way faster than they are capable, just because they can...
