42*, a large-ish number, postulated by Douglas Adams as the answer to the meaning of life.
However in this case it is the number of new road signs that have appeared over the mountain section of the T course, excluding of course the traditional TT signs with the names of the variuos course sections on, and the other new signs giving you a 3,2,1 in case you forget about windy corner, creg-na-baa, and the one at the bottom of the straight from the creg.
These signs are set back all of 6 to 8 inches from the road in some cases, surely more of a hindrance than a help? Do we really need them? They are mostly covered up so I am going to assume they are to do with the one way system...... which presumably no-one knows anything about......
*this may not be an accurate count!
