Which part of the highway code have I missed that gives bus drivers the right to pull out into moving traffic whenever they like?

    Highway code: section 223
"Buses, coaches and trams. Give priority to these vehicles when you can do so safely, especially when they signal to pull away from stops. Look out for people getting off a bus or tram and crossing the road. "

A lot of bus drivers take their own view of the word 'priority' & pull out expecting you to do an emergency stop for them!
I reject your reality & substitute my own..

Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy, and usually do, allow buses to pull out. I'm just not overly happy when they decide that I have to brake pretty damn sharply just because they've decided they can't wait an extra 20 seconds for me to get past!

If I was getting paid nearly ÂŁ40k a year to drive a bus I'd quite happily sit and wait for a gap whilst calculating the overtime in my head
