All the way up the hill by the Manx Cat Sanctuary has been chipped today! I'll be avoiding this road for a couple of days; it was a nightmare, even at 20mph! :?

Yes New Castletown Road, absolute nightmare getting home from work today. They must have put tons!!!!! and tons of chips on that today. Wish i could claim for paintwork damage off the DOT, they would have one hell of a bill. Looks like it,s home by St Marks this week

Apparently its done to keep the roads in good condition and combat frost? Vaguely remember reading something over the weekend regarding the chipping, and why it was done. Something else about improving the islands roads was said

no because you will have been doing over 20mph and not keeping a big enough gap. If you stuck to what the signs said then it wouldn't have happened.

I am only guessing this is a question even though there is no ? at the end...

yeah I know what you mean. I asked the old man about it (cos he is the font of all knowledge.... =/ ) and that was his reply. The stuff they put down coming up fishers hill was fe*king DEEP... was fooling around with my stereo and avoided a sign which was met with a proper good squirm from the car... Seems to be alright now!Not a fan of all this chipping business...

I would prefer it if they also repaired the road first...rather than just chipping the potholes to...
