I'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction of where to buy a T-Piece suitable for installing an oil pressure gauge. Downside is I haven't got a clue what thread it is, so will need to be able to try the current switch into them. I've tried obvious places such as Zeneth, DMS, Industrial (yes, it was that long ago when I last looked...) etc but none of them seemed to have anything close. Are there any obscure (or even more obvious) places anyone could suggest I try?

Raymotors Ramsey. Ask for a chap called Wayne, nice chap and knowledgeable when it comes to tools. Worth phoning them up before making the trek maybe?

Compressed air services on Douglas head ind estate. Go in at the top entrance and turn left at the end, they are last unit on the right hand side. They will have the fitting you need [probably 1/4npt]

I'm pretty sure I've tried compressed air services before as the location sounds familiar but i'll try again at the weekend - If no luck i'll give Raymotors a try. Thanks for the suggestions.

if you are stuck i have made these before,
chances are its 1/8th bsp or npt, thats the most common oil pressure switch size,
did you not get a t-piece with the gauge?

I got the adapters with the gauge, but none fit into the block, the gauge has 1/8npt with it though so will need one part of the t piece to be that. I mainly need to find what thread it is to go in the block. If I can work that out, i'd be able to get one off the internet easy enough.
If anyone knows what oil switch thread a LR 300tdi engine has, i'd be forever grateful! Tried the obvious forums online and they all say pretty much every thread in existence!

the od is approx 9.5ish mm, and there are 7threads in 1/4inch, therefore 28tpi, closest I can find on wiki to that is a od of 9.7 and 28tpi being a 1/8bsp... do those workings sound about right??

sounds like its gonna be 1/8th bsp or npt, which would be very common, but 10x1 is also very close but alot less common on oil fittings, best get some thread gauges and a vernier on it to confirm

Popped up to Compressed Air Services, and the very helpful chap had a look, scratched his head and got very baffled. In the end he didn't think it was a 1/8, and more like a very worn 10x1! Which would make more sense as its from a Land Rover, and it's not like them to use a common thread, and more like something left over in the parts bin...
Never the less, he didn't have anything, so might just bite the bullet and order something off the internet.
Thanks for the help guys
