There is a black Mark 2 for sale on Manx net for 2600. Advertised by somebody called Bob.
I've text him but the responses haven't been amazing. Does anyboyd know this car? I think it used to be owned by Toby. Apparently it is very nice but 2600 is a lot of money for a mark 2!!!!
It lives down Port Erin somewhere. does anybody know where or what its like?
Thanks
If you fancy it

I built the engine and did alot of work on this car less than a year ago i completed the engine build and installation a month or two before christmas. i can answer any questions bobby is a friend of toby's who has about 20 golfs and knows these cars very well. Paul meet bobby and you'll then understand his texts alittle more! lol toby is or was the owner of the car. it is a very solid mk2 gold with lots of limited eddition parts etc etc on it. well worth the asking price... If bobby has anthing to do with the car it should be a good en. And 2600 for a decent mk2 golf is not that bad. You gets what you pay for!!
Now with added booooooost!!! 1.7bar peak holding 1.6 ish....

Bet it has at least 130k+ on the clock.
£2,600, for a '89, is a lot of money. Definitely an absolute future classic but I don't get why/how everyone thinks their mk2 is worth a fortune.

Toby sent me some photo's a while back and it does look tidy. The price is just a bit steep for a Mark 2 no matter what condition she is in.
However, if she was oak green, I wouldn't be able to help myself lol

I sold mine for £250 with 250k on the clock, still pulled strong too..... Really wish I'd kept it though instead of buying that shed of an Escort Van
