BODY FOUND IN PORT ERIN
HUMAN remains have been recovered from the sea at Port Erin, police have confirmed.
The lower half of a body was spotted by a police officer patrolling the breakwater at 2.35pm.
Coastguard officers and Port Erin lifeboat were called out, and the remains recovered.
A police surgeon, scenes of crime officers and detectives also attended.
A force spokesman confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious, but was unable to give details of the person's sex or the state of the remains.
The spokesman said officers are making further inquiries to establish the body's identity and how they died.
