Right, time for a quick update!!
Have now had the car back on the road for a couple of months and I am pleased to report the work I have done so far is FAULTLESS!!!!!!!!!!
Heater matrix and lower hose spot on!! P2 brakes, they are awesome!! I have never known a car stop this good!!!!!!!! T4 Indicators, Looking GOOD!!!!!
However, it is not all good news!!
Since getting the car back on the road, a lot of dash bulbs have decided that 170,000 miles is more than enough and they have decided to retire!! Also, I have noticed the rear brake calipers are now binding and require replacement. (I had my suspicions when I replaced the rear pads at the same time as the gear box. They were binding then but knowing the front calipers were knackered, I was hoping that would cure the problem!!). There is a water coming in from above the drivers seat somewhere, possible sunroof leaking or a blocked water channel?? I have also noticed the car is "wondering" on the road, still to do a proper diagnosis, I feel the problem is coming from the rear of the car, maybe bushes or something??
List of jobs done in order:
Replaced N/S/F Wheel Bearing Replaced Gearbox Replaced Clutch Slave Cylinder Replaced Rear Brake Pads Replaced Heater Matrix Replaced Lower Coolant Hose Replaced Front Brake Calipers, Discs & Pads Replaced Front Indicators for P1.5 T4 Indicators
List of jobs to do in order:
Replace Headlights for P2 Headlights Replace N/S/F ABS Sensor Replace Dash Bulbs Replace Gear Linkage Bushes Check Engine Mount Rubbers For Excessive Wear Investigate Misfire When Accelerating Under 2000 RPM Carry out Full Service Incl. Gearbox Oil Replacement and Fitting Induction Kit Investigate Water Ingress From Above Drivers Seat Replace Head Lining due to Water Damage Replace Rear Brake Calipers Investigate Slight Issue With Car Wondering Around The Road Carry out Body Work Repairs on O/S/R Wing (Previous Owner Abuse) Replace Exhaust Rear Silencer With Aftermarket Universal (Baffles in rear box gone) Replace Front Side Marker Lights Replace Timing Belt Fit 17" Alloys Lower Suspension by 40mm
Hopefully I will have all this completed before July when I hope going on holiday in the car to Lithuania, but I will not take the car unless it is 100% right!!
Now I have added a full list of things to do, it also gives me a list to work from!! I will keep you all posted as to how I get on and obviously add photos as I go!!

Modifying has started!!! My friend and I masked off the nasty chrome grill last night and attacked it with a can of high gloss black that was sitting around in the garage!! Also, we have designed a new front bumper based on a Subaru Impreza that my friend is going to build for me!! (this is what we used to do for a living so it is not too difficult to create!!) That together with the 17" rimz I is picking up tonight, this little project has finally started!!!

I thought I would post a pic here of the new Subaru/Volvo bumper design to gauge the feedback. So far, it's looking good but would really appreciate your opinions (and don't worry, I am not easily offended). Not every one has the same taste in vehicle design, if they did the world would be a very boring place!!!!! Also, I have managed to acquire a rather nice set of rimz for the ovloV. I'm going to give them a bit of a tidy up and buy a fitting kit before they can be fitted to the car but I like the BK604 wheels and think they will look ace when on!!

We have started refurbishing the alloys a couple of days ago and also sorting out the rear wing. see pics. Don't panic, the wing was like this when I bought the car.

Nice job on the wheels.
Not sure on the bumper idea tbh, as unless Volvo dervs have become significantly quicker since i last drove one its a bit "all mouth no trousers" imo of course.

Project ovloV is no more!! I went out to pay some bills the other day and ended up buying a Ford Galaxy. I didn't plan on it, it just kind of happened. So, if anyone wants a cheap run around, let me know. I have it advertised on manx.net and manxads for £350 so make me an offer. I have spent a lot of time and money on this car and really do not want to let it go but I need the space.
