Well the saxo is up for sale now, as I have got something bigger! Need it to ferry band gear around and I've always liked these.... So yeah, I bought myself a van. A VW Transporter T4 '800 Special'. Its a 1994 on 128k miles, 1.9D. and really cool.

haha sweet! A slightly different project for you now. I also have spotted that the progressive weight loss plan is well underway....
Just remember, Carbon fibre is lighter than steel, Rust is lighter than carbon fibre, Holes are lighter than rust!

How much did you pay for it?. Personally with that sort of mileage + rust i'd run it into the ground and get a newer one in better nick, no offense but you can't polish a turd, rolling it in glitter will not make it any better either....
If you sell your VTR for a grand that'll be a decent (ish) van.

I'm not gunna say how much I paid for it as thats for me to know! But i'm really happy with it, I knew I was going to get negative comments of the guys that can afford nicer things but it is exactly what i want and was within my budget. And its a new project to get my teeth into. Its already ply lined, got 2 extra seats int the back and has been owned by a mechanic so runs like new. EDIT - Also I had signed up to a T4 forum/owners club before buying it and new what to look for and know already that with the correct treatment these can last well over 300k miles.
