Just picked up a bargain of a 2i. Bodywork is immaculate! Not a patch of rust anywhere.

Story goes a lad bought it yesterday as a non runner, gave it to me to find out whats wrong and the piston is dissapeared, so i got it cheap.
Not too sure whether to fix and sell or keep as a toy.. Think i have enough toys so will most likely fix and sell.

the 1 thing i dont like about xr2is
is the insurance group there so high for what they are there group 14-15
and yer there nippy but no match for a 1.9 pug 205 or 309
and the 309 is a 1.9 and yet is stll only a group 13 insurance :?

Will do Gina. Got a few people that seem interested in it already.

dno about that Andy, 1.6 205 and this i reckon would be fair par to par.

Do agree about the insurance groups though! They do sit ridiculously high for what they are.

On a good inspection of the chassis I have found a little rust on the chassis door hinges. Will probably remove the doors and touch it up to keep its imacculate aearance up.

Next i need to go and rip this donor engine out.

yer the speed aint much diffrent but the handleing on a 205 1.6 was awesome on the 1 i had
also a 1.6 205 is only insurance group 11 so how they work it no 1 nos
the 309 i have handles very good for a slightly longer car much better than i thought not much diffrence to a 205 some people say the 309 is betetr due to the wider track

thats why u use a 309 subframe and rear beam and put it on a 205. if u think the handlings gd on a standed one u want to drive a mod one, it might only be a couple of mm but it makes a hell of a diffrence
