    Manx Auto Sport
    Auto Test Championship 2012 Regs


    1) Promoters. ~ Manx Autosport Limited
    2) Title and Type of Events~ Autotest & Production Car Autotest
    3) Venue ~ Jurby Airfield or Grandstand Car Park or other location on Isle of Man
    4) Dates ~ Dates: TBA
    5) Timetable ~ Signing on & Scrutinizing: TBA
    First Test: TBA start
    6) Status ~ Clubmans ~ Premit No. - TBA
    7) Jurisdiction ~ This meeting will be held under the General Regulations of the MotorSports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), these supplementary Regulations and any written instructions the promoting club may issue for the event.
    8) Eligible Competitors ~ Members of Manx Autosport Limited. Drivers who are 14-16 or 17 who do not hold a full driving licence will be accepted subject to Technical Regulations (M) 11 to 12.1.
    9) Vehicles ~ Vehicles must comply with MSA Regulations and must comply with Technical Regulations (M)16 to 16.7,18 &18.1. Cars may be used by up to two (2) competitors only. Unless otherwise permitted by the Clark of the Course.
    There will be Five Classes
    1a Unmodified, with engine over driven wheels up to 1000 cc.
    1 Unmodified, with engine over driven wheels up to 1400 cc.
    2 Unmodified, with engine over driven wheels over 1400 cc.
    3 Unmodified, rear wheel drive.
    5 Specials / modified cars / 4 wheel drive cars or cars with none standard limited slip differential.
    `Modified` will not mean removing bumpers or seats, or making any other `cosmetic` alterations, but will mean, modifying the engine, gearbox or axle to improve engine performance or traction. Induction modifications are free. Adding a sump guard, roll cage, full harness or any other safety accessory will not be deemed, in the spirit of the above description, as a `modification`.
    PLEASE NOTE. cars must be entered in the appropriate class. For example, unmodified cars with engine over driven wheels up to 1400cc, must enter class 1, etc. From that date, only specials, modified cars, 4 wheel drives or cars with limited slip differentials, may enter in class 5.
    10) Tests ~ Dependent on time and number of competitors, each event will run four or more tests. Competitors will have two attempts at each test, both attempts will be timed. Each competitor's worst performance at each test will be discarded in arriving at the total penalties for the event. Details of each test will be available before each test and competitors will have an opportunity to walk the test before the first run of each test.(Timing apparatus – Stop watch operated by timekeeper)
    11) Penalties ~ For every 1 second to complete the course = 1 penalty, for striking any barrier, wall or marker or crossing the boundary of a test (per mistake) = 5 penalties. Failing to cross or stop at any line or specified position as required in a test (per mistake) = 5 penalties Not performing a test correctly (wrong direction) or not completing a test or making a false start = slowest time for correct completion of test + 20 penalties.
    12) Championships ~ Not all events will count towards championship tables. Auto Test Championship, if 8 or more events are run, only your five highest scores will count. Manx Auto Sport Championship, If less then 8 events, Only your four highest scores will count.
    13) Scrutinizing ~ Will commence 45 minutes before the start time of the first car. Any competitor not signed on 15 minutes before the start time, may not be allowed to start. Vehicles must be structurally sound, not dropping fluids, battery terminals must be insulated, and throttle must have two return springs.
    14) Entries ~ Competitors should notify of their intent to compete in an event, at least 24 hours before. Either by adding their name to the list on the Manx Auto Sport Autotest group on facebook or by telephoning the organiser Entry fees (£10) will be collected at signing on.
    15) Officials ~ Manx Auto Sport will provide a minimum of three officials per event: Clerk of the Course, Steward and Timekeeper. ~ TBA
    16) Results ~ Will be posted on Manx Autotest Group after the event and published at Eurocars, Peel Rd. thereafter. Any Protests must be made in writing to Manx Auto Sport accompanied by the appropriate fee within 24 hours of the publication of the results.
    17) Scoring ~ First in each class on each event will receive 12 points, 2nd 11, 3rd 10, etc etc and these points will go toward both the class championship and the club championship. Ties will be resolved by the fastest on the first test or second test etc. Scoring for classes and championship, will be from 12 points down to one point (non finishers - 1 point.) Position wins for each event ~First over all = plus 4 points, Second over all = plus 3 points, Third over all = plus 2 points, Fourth over all = plus 1 point.

    I want to do some form of Track driving in my Evo, but never do.

    What requirements are needed?

    better suited to smaller cars IMO matey. cheap and cheerful motorsport.
    get out on a couple of trackdays in the evo though! good fun. MDRA slalom thingy may 7th too.

    Anyone can enter, you only need Manx Autosport club membership (£20 for the year)
    Entry fee is £10 per event.

    As Tree said the EVO is a full saloon car. It has been done, Steve Colley used his for a couple of rounds one year.
    Could be a bit sore on the car, to chuck it around the autotest courses.

    New members and first timers always welcome.

    Big thanks to all that made it out today for the first round of this years championship.

    Great start to the championship, lets build from this.

    Shame about Tree breaking a drive shaft on Jason's car, they could not do the second half of the tests.
