    Hi,

This is an event in my eyes, best piece of road we have and it's one way... :) :) :)

Went over yesterday (Sunday 30th May) lunchtime with my son Jamie and the road was really clear, we saw 3-4 bikes and 6 cars - that's it!

First run we had, we were with a guy in a VX220 in green with black wheels (is he on here?) and the second run there was a Siera Cosworth, 4 door in silver or mid grey, It looked mint, really smart but only saw it in my rear view mirror  seriously, I'm not a big Ford fan but this car look awesome!

Then as I came to the end of the lap and into the cones there was a blue scooby driven by a tall scotish chap who lives in a Ramsey area...!!

I'm out again soon in the 88 beema..see you there...

    Cheers

    Ian

Just a reminder - The Double White Lines still stand - no crossing them...

But yeah - I'll be up there in the Van / Seat having a good blast!

I was working today in Ramsey and went out to two appointments in my wifes Fiat Barketta and came back the mountain way, a bit busier but still quiet. Had a good run in the Barketta with it's 1.8 16v engine, followed a white 205 1.9 gti, dam handsome chap driving it  !

Need to work out driving home in the track car back from Ramsey each day whilst having a road car for appointments.. :D

Realistically, have they or will they ever do someone for crossing the double whites, either crossing left to right or right to left?

I know they can't just throw the rulebook out of the window but I really can't see the point of keeping this in place. It's not like ANY of the bikes or visitors will ever adhere to it. After all they don't observe the rule elsewhere on the course!

The mountain road is superb an' all but I'm not sure I can be arsed this year. Living in Douglas I have to travel to Raaaaaamsey and then I only get to open the taps from the Gooseneck to just before Kate's, plus of course the filtering sections inbetween. Best part of probably £20 in petrol and about 6 minutes of actual driving.

Personally I'd rather go out on a normal evening when the roads are quiet.

True, don't bother, too much hassle to travel ALL THE WAY to Ramsey, stay in Douglas for a normal eve when the roads are quiet.....Are you serious? Come on VR6, a one way mountain road now when it's quiet is great fun, sure it's a pain when it's busy and someone comes off and the road is shut etc etc etc BUT now is the best time, take advantage before the ferry comes in loaded with bikes.... :-)

Don't get me wrong, it's good fun but just seems a bit too sterile and controlled. I know that's the way it has to be but that's why I'd rather go out on a normal evening and enjoy the whole course rather than just be swamped by idiots that don't know their way around but still think they own the place.

Guess I was put off last year by enduring 30 minutes getting to Ramsey to find that a crash had caused the mountain to be closed about 5 minutes before I arrived!!
