Re: driving in uk

Agreed---- and as you are UK based if you want to drive on the IOM you must have a FULL uk licence . You could not drive here on a UK provisional however old you are .

Youngest IAM member (and an xlr8 member too)

Heard on this mornings Manx Radio a report and interview with a 17 year old girl who I know has posted on these forums. She has passed her IAM test which I can assure everyone is not an easy thing to do at any age ,but at her tender years shows a maturity and commitment to practice and work hard to ...

Re: Keep Your Distance

So , does anyone know the actual laws on fog lights then as I can't see people going outside with a 30 mtr tape and checking the visible distance on it ?? Some of the new hid lights can also blind you too  I dont think the law states a particular distance as i guess that drivers need some flexib...

Re: Keep Your Distance

Couldn't agree more . Even at 30 mph you are travelling at approx 45 feet per second . People who think they can drive safely only a few feet from the bumper of the car in front are just plain stupid. Unfortunately some people seem to think that by doing this they are actually good drivers ,because ...

Re: Riding in europe

I've driven around many countries in Europe on Manx plates and without a GBM sticker and never had a problem.
Probably worth taking a small GBM sticker in your luggage and put it on if there is a problem -but I doubt you would need it -
Have a good trip 8)

Re: Different speed each way on mountain????

Sounds like a mistake ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- unless its a new safety feature that has traffic going in one direction being slowed to enable safer overtaking by traffic speeding from the other direction. :rol...

Re: Motoring in France

Sory to raise such an old topic but could be relevant . Chatting to a friend the other day he was talking about letting his son drive the car on holiday in France . The son is 17 with a FULL UK licence . It is illegal in most European countries to drive under 18 even with a full licence issued in an...
