Thanks for the reply Tom, is the 0w30 LL01 or LL04 approved?

I use castrol edge TD 0w30 which is LL04 but I am always on the look out for a more superior oil. Cost is largely irrelevant when it comes to oil for the BMW.

What oil for my car? 2002 E39 530D, no mods and general driving 20k per year.
